Halloween in Niagara FallsOctober 7, 2016
Welcome to Halloween in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada!
There’s a lot of bright lights and fun stuff around the place (especially in Clifton Hill) so we’ll get you started with a quick run-through of the attractions here in Niagara Falls around Halloween Don’t worry, they’re all either a short walk or an even shorter taxi ride away from our Howard Johnson by the Falls hotel.
Any visit to the Clifton Hill area of Niagara Falls, where all the best attractions are located, would be totally unfinished without a visit to Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks, Niagara Falls’ local wax museum. Inside, you’ll find breath-taking likenesses of characters from movie and music, as well as heroes, villains and celebrities. Great for costumed selfies.
After that, right next door, you have Ripley’s Believe-It-Or-Not museum, whose staff, and I quote, “scour the globe for unbelievable exhibits.” Perfect for Halloween, which goes together with weirdness like it goes together with dark nights and black cats. Within the Odditorium, you’ll find some frankly unbelievable stuff from the most mysterious ends of the Earth—and just as a warning: do not touch the shrunken heads. Because you never know, right?
After that, it’s time to really get really Halloween-y. As your night deepens on Halloween in Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, you should make your way over to the Haunted House. An atmospheric display of lurking terror driven by sound and smoke and all-out improbable strangeness, the Haunted House is a work of art. It forces you down claustrophic and narrow halls and drives you forward through its sinister and darkened depths where you will begin to understand the true meaning of fear in Clifton Hill.
The Haunted House, Ripley’s Believe-It-Or-Not and Louis Tussaud’s Wax Museum are all very child-appropriate, of course. They’re an easy in and an easy out and they’ll have the kids happy and ready for bed. Whether you take them to the next attraction or not is up to you, but bear in mind that this next horror is major league.
Because now is when you go to your real Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls Halloween: the Nightmares Fear Factory. Since you were within a few blocks, you probably heard the screaming. Well, this is where it’s coming from.
The Nightmares Fear Factory is an invasive, interactive and whole-heartedly insidious and almost infectious exercise in scaring the living daylights out of anyone who enters. The performers are professional, the atmosphere is pitch-black and silent as the grave until they get started on you, and then walls have a disturbing tendency to collapse.
Making it through the Fear Factory in Niagara Falls, Clifton Hill, on Halloween, as I can personally vouch for, is a trial in willpower and occasionally flat-out stubbornness; the refusal to let people see you chicken out.
So there’s four places in Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, that ought to get you started on your stay here on Halloween Night.
Talk to our staff about great savings on attraction tickets to Nightmares Fear Factory and Ripley's Believe it or Not during the Fall season.
