Why Choose Which Niagara Falls Casino, Do Both!June 20, 2018
Niagara Falls offers more casino gambling space than any city in Canada - the equivalent of five football fields, and then some.
Compared to the billion-dollar Niagara Fallsview Casino, with 200,000 square feet of gaming space, the city's original betting hall, Casino Niagara, is cozy and comfortable at 95,000 square feet. That's 295,000 square feet in total.
It would take numerous football fields, though, at about 57,000 square feet, to hold all the casinos' slot machines and table games.
Whether you're a serious gambler or just like to have a little fun on a budget, Niagara Falls has what you are looking for.
With its location on Victoria Avenue at the top of Clifton Hill, the Howard Johnson Hotel By The Falls is well situated to be your base for visiting both casinos. It offers an on-site WeGo stop (WeGo is the tourist district transit service that stops at both casinos, as well as all other major tourism stops and districts).
If you'd rather travel on your own, Casino Niagara is a 10-minute walk from the hotel while Fallsview Casino is a four-minute drive, according to Google Maps.
Appropriately, both casinos live by the slogan, "know your limit and play within it," and offer far more than just a wide array of games of chance. There's a lot of ways to have fun at the Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara.
But for the moment, let's stick to gaming, shall we?
The Fallsview Casino, opened in 2004 with a spectacular view overlooking the falls, is a sprawling mega-destination that also offers a luxury hotel, concert theatre, numerous restaurants and an indoor mall with hundreds of medium and high-end retail outlets. You could spend your whole day there.
Casino Niagara opened in 1996 on the site of another famous tourism venue, Maple Leaf Village.
It also overlooks the American Falls and is recognizable for the white tower that still tops its structure and is visible from far away.
The property underwent massive renovations and rebuilding before opening its doors as the city's first casino.
Here's what is available at the two casinos to satisfy your gambling urges: The Fallsview offers more than 3,000 slot machines, and Casino Niagara more than 1,500; Fallsview boasts 100-plus table games, and Casino Niagara 40; and while Casino Niagara has a dozen poker tables, the Fallsview has more than 100.
Both are state of the art gaming emporiums, but which one you choose is a matter of taste.
The Fallsview is a destination in and of itself, while Casino Niagara is smaller and for some, has a more comfortable feel and is right in the heart of the Clifton Hill tourist district and just feet from the waterfront.
The Fallsview is more than 2.5 million square feet in size with 18 restaurants, a nightclub, health and fitness spa, the Avalon Ballroom Theatre for concerts and shows and more than 30 shops.
It has four restaurants and three bars while outside, a whole range of tourist-related attractions and restaurants are right on its doorstep.
