Winter Festival of Lights
Not everyone realizes how much there is to do during the Winter season which has already kicked off with the beginning of the Winter Festival of Lights celebration that runs from now until the end of January. Not only can you walk or drive around looking at the extraordinary lights, but there are many mini-events that occur all around the city as well.
Niagara Falls Winter Fireworks November
Fireworks fly over Niagara Falls every Friday night at 9 pm (weather permitting). Fireworks are a long-standing tradition dating back decades, in fact, Niagara Falls is famous for its illuminations and fireworks displays. People come from all over the world to see this free event.
Christmas Gift Shows
Prior to Christmas, there are gift shows to buy unique presents for the person who has everything on your shopping list. There’s the Niagara Falls Christmas Gift Show at the Scotiabank Convention Centre and then there’s the Grand View Winter Marketplace show happening along the Niagara Parkway at the bottom of Clifton Hill. The marketplace is open two weekends: November 19th to the 20th and November 25th to the 27th from 4 pm to 9 pm.
Free Borealis LaserLight Show
You’ll be mesmerized by this stunning laser light show that morphs the sky above you into various shapes and colours to choreographed music. The laser light show moves around the city in a variety of locations that you can check out on our event listing here. From December 23rd to December 31st the Borealis laserlight show will be a short walking distance from our Niagara Falls hotel, in fact, we’re sure you’ll be able to see them from outside our doors!
Niagara Falls New Year’s Eve
Plan to head down to the FREE Niagara Falls New Year’s Eve party at the Falls. With 3 acts, the non-stop music festival will keep you dancing as we gear up to bring in the New Year. Make sure you wear lots of layers as it can get chilly, but with over 40,000 people in attendance its obviously worth it.
Niagara Falls Ice Wine Festival
The fun never stops, not even after New Year’s as the wineries start their winter harvest. This is best known as our Niagara Ice Wine Festival where we host a weekend taste event at the Scotiabank Convention Centre from January 27th, 29th. The best part about this event is you can drink inside where it’s warm.
